To take a passage of writing (poem, song lyrics, etc) and express typographically to convey mood and emotion of the piece. Limited computer generated type.
Lyrics taken from a love song written by 17 year old Jose Vanders. A Little Love Song is about how sickly sweet love is and how innocent it can all appear at such an age. Written from the girl’s point of view, it reads like a diary of events. To recreate the overall mood - childish, fun, and narrative, I opted for a scrapbook aestetic direction. I want someone to look at it and be able to imagine writing
a diary similar when they were that age.
The scanned images are to be displayed in book form, bound crudely (by scrap thread) for charm and to ensure the piece looks as far from mass produced as possible.
